PhotoTo achieve the goal of a hydrogen society, a safer, more mass- and volume-efficient, and less expensive method of hydrogen storage is essential. The metal hydride alloys (MH alloys) are a safer alternative to high-pressure tanks, and the first step in using MH alloy systems is to increase the filling and releasing rates from MH alloy tanks. To this end, we will comprehensively examine the processes from the surface of MH alloy particles to the internal diffusion and phase change processes and clarify the rate-limiting factors of the MH alloy system. Then, we optimize the filling and releasing time to minimize the representative times for solid-phase diffusion, gas-phase diffusion, and heat transfer.
