What we do together ユニットの 活動

Held every three to four months, the joint seminars bring together unit fellows for research presentations and cross-disciplinary discussion. Each session gives students the chance to present their current work and receive feedback from peers in fields very different from their own — an economist hearing from a materials scientist, an engineer engaging with a social scientist. We also use the joint seminars for final unit students' presentations of their doctoral theses. 3〜4ヶ月ごとに開催する合同ゼミでは、ユニット生が一堂に集まり研究発表と異分野交流を行います。各回、学生は自身の研究を発表し、全く異なる分野の仲間からフィードバックを受けます。材料科学者が経済学者の意見を聞き、工学者が社会科学者と議論するような場です。また、修了を控えたユニット生の博士論文発表にも合同ゼミを活用しています。

Unit coordinators, faculty supervisors, and external experienced researchers also participate, keeping the discussion grounded, providing valuable feedback while allowing genuinely open interdisciplinary exchange. ユニットコーディネーター、指導教員、そして学外の経験豊富な研究者も参加し、議論に深みを持たせながら、真に開かれた学際的交流を促しています。

Once a year, the unit visits energy-related industrial facilities in the Kyushu region. These visits connect the fellows' research to real industrial practice, allowing them to see how industries set up their operations, use energy, produce, manage, and transform at scale. 年に一度、ユニットは九州地域のエネルギー関連産業施設を訪問します。この訪問は、ユニット生の研究と実際の産業現場をつなぐ機会となり、産業界が事業をどのように構築し、エネルギーをいかに利用・生産・管理・変換しているかを大規模に体感することができます。

Each January, all Q-ENERGY Innovator Unit fellows participate in Kyushu Energy Week, the University's main energy-related event. Here, the program of presentations is curated for young researchers, followed by a large joint poster session. Every student presents their research, making this the program's most visible public showcase. Attendance and participation are mandatory for all unit members. 毎年1月、Q-ENERGYイノベーターユニットの全ユニット生が、大学の主要なエネルギー関連イベントである九州エネルギーウィークに参加します。若手研究者向けに厳選された講演プログラムの後、大規模な合同ポスターセッションが開催されます。全学生が研究成果を発表するこのイベントは、プログラムの中で最も広く対外発信できる公開の場です。ユニット生全員の参加・発表が必須となっています。

The session brings together researchers, faculty, and external guests, giving fellows experience in presenting to a broad, multidisciplinary audience. 研究者・教員・外部ゲストが一堂に集まり、多様な聴衆に向けた発表経験を積む場となっています。

The Unit actively participates in University activities focused on collaboration with industry. In addition to the occasional outreach for industry meetings, the Unit now contributes to a regular series of workshops organized by the Decarbonization Society in Kyushu (Q-DeCS), held six times per year, that connect Kyushu University researchers with industrial partners from across the region. In each workshop, two unit fellows are invited to present their doctoral research, a direct bridge between the program and the broader research and business community. ユニットは、産学連携を目的とした大学の活動に積極的に参加しています。個別の産業界向け成果報告の機会に加え、現在は九州脱炭素社会（Q-DeCS）が主催する定期ワークショップシリーズにも貢献しています。このワークショップは年6回開催され、九州大学の研究者と地域の産業パートナーをつなぐ場となっています。各回、ユニット生2名が博士研究の成果を発表し、プログラムと広域の研究・ビジネスコミュニティをつなぐ架け橋となっています。

The summer camp is the unit's flagship activity, an annual two-day trip outside Fukuoka that combines hands-on group work with site visits to energy companies and industrial facilities. Half of the summer camp program is usually devoted to collaborative group challenges (joint research proposals, carbon-neutral campus strategies, etc.), the other half to seeing real-world energy infrastructure. We also enjoy plenty of social time together. 夏合宿はユニット最大のイベントです。毎年夏、福岡を離れた1泊2日の合宿で、グループワークとエネルギー企業・施設訪問を組み合わせています。前半は合同研究提案やカーボンニュートラルキャンパス提言など協働課題に取り組み、後半は実際のエネルギーインフラを訪問します。もちろん、親睦を深める時間も大切にしています。
